Maintain contact with your students during the summer by giving each one a "vacation packet" of reading material, games and other items when they go on vacation. Find out at the beginning of the summer which of your students will be going on vacation, and when they will be leaving.
Obtain a cardboard gift box or manila envelope for each pupil. Just before he leaves for vacation, fill it with appropriate items such as pages from his Sunday school book; memory verse cards; take-home papers; and ideas for games to play in the car. Enclose a personal letter with each pack, explaining the contents and purpose.
If you teach small children, call the pack a "surprise box." Give it to parents to use in entertaining their child after the novelty of travel has worn off.
