Prayer is the foundation and cornerstone of everything which is done and is the source of each staff member’s energy, strength and direction. Consider recruiting a prayer partner for each member of the VBS team.

God’s guidance in selecting teachers and helpers.

Endurance, patience and positive attitudes for all workers during VBS.

God’s blessing upon the attempts to reach new children.

Sensitivity to teachable moments and children’s readiness for salvation.

Spiritual understanding on the part of the boys and girls to Bible lessons being taught.

Developing on-going relationships with families who have no regular church home.

EVALUATE REASONS WHY CHILDREN MISBEHAVE AT CHURCH

Evaluate the reasons why children misbehave in your classroom.

It could be a need for attention, boredom, upset emotions, insecurity, illness, hunger, or inner tension expressed by wiggles.

Ask God for wisdom in determining the root of the problem.

MAKE THE CHILDREN IN YOUR SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS FEEL VALUED

Use such phrases as: "I'm glad you're a part of our class"; "You are important to me"; "How special you are"; or "Do you know that God created you one of a kind?"
