Bible Verse Stand-Up Art Project


Needed for Each Child: One white sheet construction paper folded into thirds and then flattened out, crayons, Scotch tape, Elmer’s glue, and Bible verse word strip: “With God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).

Activity: Children use crayons to decorate one side of the construction paper, then fold to make a stand-up using tape for attaching. The Bible verse strip is glued to the front side of the stand-up. Encourage the boys and girls to place this on their kitchen table and say the verse together as a family on a regular basis.

Choosing to Care


Make simple faces like the ones shown in the photo. Ask the children to think about how they feel (happy, sad, sleepy, or so-so) and point to the picture of how they are feeling. Say: “Would you mind sharing why you feel that way today?” Often this will lead to opportunities to pray for a child. ("I'm sleepy because Mom and Dad were fighting last night and it kept me awake." "I'm happy because I have a new baby brother.")

Mr. Echo Puppet : Teaching Songs


When wanting to teach the children the words to a song, a Mr. Echo puppet can be used. He sings one line...the pupils echo it. A puppet stage is not necessary, as the children will focus their attention on the puppet. Inexpensive puppets can be found on eBay or at Thrift stores.

Verse-er-cise Bible Verse Memorization Idea


For all age groups, the key to Bible verse memorization is repetition. Make it fun! Be creative! Verses studied once are easily forgotten. Review helps children retain what they have learned and helps make the verse a part of the child's life. One fun way to do that is Verse-er-cise. Do exercises while saying the verse.

HIDE AND SEEK BIBLE LESSON REVIEW GAME


Write questions on brightly colored construction paper and “hide” around the classroom, by taping to walls. Pupils take turns “seeking” a question by finding one, removing from the wall, reading it, and calling on a volunteer to answer. Try to focus on "how" and "why" feeling questions rather than just "who", "what", and "where".
