Samuel & Eli Interactive Bible Story




Children in grades 1 and up can take turns reading the script below and manipulating the figures. Beds are made from heavy cardboard.

Eli: Good night, Samuel.

Samuel: Good night, Eli.

Narrator: The mother of Samuel had taken him to the temple to help Eli the priest. Eli was like a father to Samuel. All was quiet in the temple.

Voice:
Samuel.

Samuel (getting out of bed and running to Eli’s bed): Here I am. You called me.

Eli: I did NOT call you, Samuel. Go back to bed and lie down.

Narrator: Samuel went back to bed. All was quiet in the temple.

Voice: Samuel.

Samuel (getting out of bed and running to Eli’s bed): Here I am. You called me.

Eli: I did NOT call you, Samuel. Go back to bed and lie down.

Narrator: Samuel went back to bed. All was quiet in the temple.

Voice: Samuel.

Samuel (getting out of bed and running to Eli’s bed): Here I am. You called me.

Eli: Now I know who is calling you. Go and lie down. If God calls you again say, “Speak, for your servant is listening.”

Narrator: Samuel went back to bed. All was quiet in the temple.

Voice: Samuel

Samuel:
Speak, for your servant is listening.

BIBLE VERSE PLACE MATS


Bible Verse: Trust in Him at all times. Psalm 62:8a

Materials Needed: construction paper; markers or crayons; scissors; clear contact paper.

Directions:
1. Give each person a piece of construction paper.
2. use a marker or crayons to write Bible verse on the paper. Decorate as desired.
3. Laminate place mats or cover with clear contact paper. Review the verse at mealtimes.

Bible Fun Verse: Take Away



Bible Verse: Love the Lord your Godwith all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. Deuteronomy 6:5

Materials Needed: Soup, vegetable and/or fruit cans; strips of paper to fit cans; markers; tape.

Directions:
1. Use markers to write a word from the Bible verse on each paper strip.
2. Tape one paper strip to each can.
3. Stand the cans in correct order and read the verse.
4. Take away cans with three-letter wordd and ask children to recite the verse. Continue taking away cans until the verse is said from memory.
